Debut of the "collective curator" for the exhibition organized by the students of LUISS Master of Art with the scientific direction of Achille Bonito Oliva
For the VII Edition of the Day of Contemporary, the Superintendent of the Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna, Maria Vittoria Marini Clarelli, the Director of the H.C. Andersen Museum, Matilde Amaturo and Franco Fontana, Director of LUISS Business School, are pleased to announce the exhibition Italia Ora.
The show is the final project developed by the students of the LUISS Master of Art (2010/2011), a postgraduate master program, organized by the LUISS Creative Business Center, directed by Roberto Cotroneo. The project avail itself of the scientific direction of Achille Bonito Oliva and of the coordination of Angelo Capasso.
Luiss Master of Art is the first Master that end with the debut of the whole group of students working at the realization of an exhibition and reporting the as a "collective curator" able to take care of all the design, cultural, organizational and executive functions: from the concept to the choice of artists to the catalog editing and the advertising.
Italia Ora is a reflection on Contemporary Art in our Country, it raises an open question on Art today and on the possibility of definig an "Italian character". Italian and foreign artists active in the last 10 years, will discuss topics such as memory, history, form, landscape and contamination.
All the invited artists work with experimental forms and multimedia languages, useful to represent the complexity of these topics. The collective myths of society and individual motions, of a present time that is on the borders of sustainability, are explored. A comparison between people from all over the world that corresponds to the international vocation of the Andersen Museum and to a country like Italy, destination of a renovated Grand Tour.
