On the 31st of December, the new Venetian way of celebrating New Year returns to Piazza San Marco in Venice and Piazza Ferretto in Mestre, ready to set the two hearts of the city beating on one of the most important nights of the year.

Once again, the New Year celebrations will culminate in a vast, communal kiss to send a message of love, peace and brotherhood to the world. This is the simple but profound gesture, that will welcome in the New Year at an event that is destined to become the focus of media attention and a worldwide symbol of goodwill as well as a very special memory for both the city and all those who will be there to enjoy this new, unforgettable night in Venice.

The format of Piazza San Marco this year will be reviewed: in an elegant atmosphere brighten by a cascade of Christmas lights, a light frame - a "Cassarmonica" of glimmering decorations - will be set up during the Christmas period in Piazza San Marco with a classical music and Christmas carols repertoire will delight everybody and will host the celebrations for the New Year's Eve, that will be presented by Mauro Marino, Principe Maurice with the music of Radio Italia. At midnight, the marvelous fireworks show in the basin of San Marco will light up New Year's Eve. And there will be a grand collective toast with Bellini Canella, offered in a new shape aluminum bottle, specially produced for the occasion and completely recyclable.
In Mestre, the Piazza Ferretto program will be dedicated to the young people, with the Radio Italia entertainment and the show of Sergio Labruna, dj-set, and the Pitura Stail live music. In Mestre as well, a toast with Bellini and luminous special effects will celebrate the occasion.
